Yoga is held every Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted under the Workout of the Day. Our yoga instructor, Dawn Cox, is also an Ignite member, so she knows what muscles have been focused on that week and how best to stretch them out.

“YOGA is for EveryBODY!”

DAWN COX approaches yoga as a moving meditation. Her practice incorporates creative sequencing with mindful breath-work. She hopes to leave students feeling challenged, centered and inspired after every class. Dawn started practicing yoga in 2008, but has had an interest in movement, dance and athletics since childhood. She began long distance running as an adult and after two knee surgeries, came to yoga for a low impact workout to increase strength and flexibility. She fell in love with yoga immediately and quickly increased the frequency and intensity of her practice.  Dawn completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training Core Strength Vinyasa in November 2014. This training prepared her not only to teach, but brought a deeper understanding of yoga with an emphasis on anatomy, alignment, breath and core strength.

Dawn came to Ignite Fitness—Fueled by CrossFit in 2013 with encouragement from her husband, Brian, and friends. The combination of yoga and CrossFit is a perfect fit because one compliments the other.  She had seen not only physical but mental benefits from both.

Dawn and her husband Brian attend the 6:15 a.m. class together and have a daughter that is 23 and a son, 12. When not at the box or on her mat, you will find Dawn spending time with family and friends, hiking, canoeing or stand-up paddle boarding to get variety in her workouts.
